She
She is the Goddess of eternal dawn
Muse to all men, midwife to grace
The whole world seduced by her shifting form
Gently lift the veil and behold her face
One night of atonement, sacred union attained
Heals all illusion, gives power to see
The secrets of alchemy, the mystery of Love
It's only through Her you will be set free
One simple glance from heavens gate
Power to bring song to your voice
Lost in the pleasure or moved to transcend
All terror and joy abounds in your choice

Goddess
Do you feel the Goddess when you’re making love
The gentle grace that flows from above?
Do you smell the Goddess in an early rain
The transforming salve for your earnest pain?
Do you see the Goddess in the autumn moon
Her presence strong, and then gone too soon?
Do you taste the Goddess, in loves’ first kiss
Is she the one you’re afraid you’ll miss?
Do you know the Goddess and accept her all
Or within her Love do you fear the fall?
She’s adoring mother for whom you yearn
And ferocious murderess pale and stern
She reveals your soul with one shared breath
Then steadily pushes you toward death
If you trust the Goddess she is here with you
And gently guides what you say and do
If you glimpse the Goddess in the darkest night
You begin to have a God's sacred sight
Love Once Given
Love once given, never taken away
This rhapsody is the song of everything
Peace when allowed, always manifests peace
Impossible to return to hell
Dreams with passion
Will BE
Unless you love your doubt more

Trip to DC to Inaugurate Hope! 1-18-09
My younger sister, Megan, and her family are moving to the Bay Area next month. We made this plan originally thinking I could help her and her husband, Ryan, bring the three little ones London 7, Canela-Jayne 3, and Zavier 1 back here on the plane, but the house hasn’t sold yet, so it will just be Ryan and I coming back next week, his new job starts February 1st. Of course I had an ulterior motive too, knowing that where they live in Arlington, is just 3 miles from the site of our historic inauguration happening in just two days!
Arriving at Dulles Airport in DC on Thursday, we had an inexplicable one-hour wait for our luggage. There was an older African American man from Oakland waiting near me. He said it had been 15 years since he took a vacation away from the Bay Area, and for this trip he had to borrow money from family members.
“I am not sure why”, he said, “but I just have to see this for myself. I still believe this is a miracle. This man is a sort of savior.” He paused. “He is saving us from the small beliefs we have had about ourselves.”
People are pouring into our capital from all over the country. They say 3 million will go to the mall to watch the inauguration on Tuesday. Some lucky few have tickets to sit close to the US Capitol steps where the President-elect Obama will be sworn in and make his address. Others will go for the parade, and still others will just crowd around one of the 20 jumbotrons (football game type huge screens) set up all around the mall.
Normally I would go in for the whole event. An hour twenty minutes walk in. Three hours standing, and probably walk the whole way back since the prospects of getting on a bus or train are daunting at best. But the temperature on Tuesday may not rise above freezing until late afternoon, and since I’m still recovering from Whooping Cough I am considering what I can reasonably do that day.
London sat with me at the breakfast table this morning, and as we discussed what I might do that day she said she would really like to go with me. Ah! A plan is starting to take shape. These crippled lungs and a six year old are probably on par for what we can handle. We talk for a minute about the historic nature of this moment. And how she will speak of it when she is older. She just smiles at me and says “Yes and I could really use some fresh air!”

Silence
Out of the silence
came the lips and hands of angels
Into my life
A swirling dancing explosion of
Love
And now you say I should be quiet again
Even though my heart spills with Joy!
Are there no words to describe where I have been?
I smile, because I know what you mean
And walk away
Singing as loudly as I can!

The Fall
High on the brightest Light
Freedom from my past
Moving into space
If only this would last
What in the human mind
Moves us toward the pain?
Why is its grip so tight
Will it always be the same?
Have I been in darkness
So long it seems like home?
Can I leave it behind
Go back where true Self shone?
Sitting here in silence
Those questions simply fade
My clear voice is restored
Back where the Gods are made
And then as Light returns
And once again mind doubts
Truth is quite apparent
What the struggle is about
As long as I AM LIGHT
Darkness too we’ll find
The reason for the world
The dualistic mind
Reflections perfectly match
In this playground of our Father
And all the good and bad
Dancing shadows on the water

Sister
Can you imagine a time
When She ruled the earth?
They tell us it was heaven
When woman gave us birth
Can you imagine when man
Honored Mother as his own
Treated her with reverence
In the sacred place of Home
Can you imagine when She
Standing in her place of power
Guided her daughter
Blossoming as God’s flower
Can you imagine this now
Dear Goddess of my soul?
Has man’s ground of competition
Left you barren and cold
Can you imagine Me as Goddess
Is your heart inside still true?
We will only find salvation
If you can Love Her too
Follow Me
Follow me to the place
Where Love rules the earth
It’s a secret mystic garden
Where miracles give birth
Let the waves of my body
Transform your heavy heart
And release the ancient passion
That makes living here an art
Don’t look back into darkness
You can’t save the ones behind
Only Goddess will release them
Love won’t emanate from Mind
If you stand in the magic
And with courage let YOU go
Open up to the goodness
Pouring forth from Flow
Evermore just your smile
Or the presence of your nod
Will liberate the millions
And return this place to God
Bless This Night
Bless this time of silence
The space to hear the call
The voice that leads to heaven
And manifesting ALL
Bless this heart that’s broken
The vessel for life’s worth
Opened to the essence
Of Love as well as hurt
Bless this night of darkness
The nurturer of things
The deepest cold of winter
Holds the seeds of spring
